About me

Game freak, whiz kid, Trekkie, relaxed, Tolkienists, young god, XD, PHP, JS, CSS and not afraid of a small (or) big challenge!

My name is Maey Pronk, born and raised in Warmenhuizen. I'm a Trekkie (meaning I'm a huge Star Trek fan) and also a Tolkienist (fan of Tolkien's work (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Silmarillion, etc). both hardware and software is not too difficult for me.

My qualities are: I am good at learning new things, I can work independently and as a team, I am curious about all kinds of different things, I am social, I can solve problems well, I can type code clearly and well.

My activities/hobbies are:

• Driving around villages and/or highway in my car (Rover 200- series BRM limited edition anniversary model).
• Doing things on my laptop (like gaming/developing websites/searching for things on the internet/etc).
• Playing instruments (on my guitar Ibanez GIO GRG07 Limited Edition first version or banging behind a drumkit).
• Listening to all kinds of music (metal/rock/jazz/blues/opera/pop/rock-n-roll/raggae/etc). I usually prefer live music.
• Follow social activities (going out with my friend and/concerts of bands in bars or visiting large halls and festivals such as Pinkpop, Huisweid, etc).
• I can make delicious cocktails. So far my specialties are: Watermelon Fizz, Bananana, Sex on the Beach, Blue Hawaiian. Several are on the way!
• Attempt to develop a talent for languages (French, German, English, Klingons, Quenyan)

Education and work

After graduating from secondary school, I went on to do the Social Care Employee (MMZ) training and I successfully completed that training in 2017. After that I started the Application and Media Developer (AMO) course and in 2020 I also obtained it. I also have a lot of experience as a stage technician at the company MNN-audio. I also gained two years of work experience in healthcare at Esdégé Reigersdaal. Since 2020 I have been officially employed by the advertising studio called Studioviv in Warmenhuizen as a Junior PHP developer.

Because I build a lot of WordPress websites at Studioviv. I consider myself to be a fairly experienced WordPress developer. I have also developed several WordPress plugins for my own use and/or for Studioviv. At school I also spent a lot of time with the .NET Core framework. Mainly in combination with Model View Controller (MVC) and Entity Framework (EF).
